I’m a clinical psychologist who became a research psychologist. I study the very things clinicians are interested in–trauma, loss, resilience–but I look at them from an empirical perspective. And that’s what this blog is about. There’s a lot of mist between us and a better understanding of trauma, loss, and resilience. I hope to dispel some of that here.

I’m a former basketball player, a current frisbee player, a native New Yorker, and a full time faculty member at Pace University. Welcome to my first blog, which is simultaneously published here at Psychology Today (with technical details omitted).
